"home stretch" shop update, color studies, painting reminders
I can’t believe the year is almost over! Thank you for following along and supporting my work. It is a gift to be able to do work that I love every day and I am grateful for the many ways that you all make this possible.
:: HOME STRETCH - SMALL PAINTINGS ::
This is my last small painting collection of the year. It’s called “home stretch.” In this collection I’m trying to capture the self-talk required to keep on course, the exhaustion of trying to be positive, and what it feels like to be a Philly sports fan.
:: AGAIN AND AGAIN ::
For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to consistently share a color / material study on Instagram. When I feel myself becoming fearful and uncertain I try to recenter myself around experimentation, play and joy. This is foundational to my art practice and overall wellbeing. As a recovering perfectionist, I’m trying to let go of outcomes and to focus on showing up day after day, again and again. Maybe committing to one particular type of consistency is a way to counter the chaos of these times.
:: LISTS & REMINDERS ::
Nothing is more grounding to me than a list! I admire those who can do morning pages and gratitude journals, but I am not that person. A short list taped to the wall that I look at before I get to work is the best I can do. Here is a recap of my favorite studio/painting/life reminders:
Thank you for reading and have a safe holiday season!
