reminder prints for your creative practice
a little bit each day, you have what you need, what if it's not too late
Thank you for being here! I want to share these limited-edition risograph art prints now available in my shop.
You may remember my studio reminders. I’ve taken a few of my favorite individual reminders and converted them into a beautiful gold ink risograph format. I visualize these prints on a desk where you do your important work, on the refrigerator next to pictures of your favorite people, in a frame in your hallway or as a gift to a creative person you love. You could even fold one in half and slip it in the back page of your moleskine journal. These are lovely objects and also living breathing reminders that I envision living with you in all the places you are mulling over ideas and dreaming up better worlds.
Two artists that have informed my thinking on repetition are Howardena Pindell and her obsessive dots, and John Baldessari’s “I will not make any more boring art” print.
Each print is produced using high-quality risograph ink and recycled paper.
I created the "what if it's not too late" print when I was thinking about my garden as a place to practice letting go, trying new things and thinking long-term. I was hesitant to plant new seeds because I thought it was too late in the season and the window for success had closed. Well, I planted beans in late June and had beans in October. It wasn’t too late.
The "a little bit each day" print is a reminder to take things one day at a time. This reminder can speak to your creative practice, your relationships or any other part of life your life that has ups and downs.
The "you have what you need " print is a reminder to begin the work that is in front of you. It is easy to talk yourself out of starting that painting or piece of writing. You might say to yourself:
I need more time
I need a different tool
I need the perfect studio
I need [insert external validation]
Often you already have what you need, which is the idea and the desire. You may stumble along the way but that is the work of creating.
Thank you for supporting my work!
